A Call for Coleman to Concede

Former Minnesota Gov. Arne Carlson says Republican Norm Coleman should concede to Democrat Al Franken in the U.S. Senate race. Carlson says Coleman shouldn't sue over the results of the recount. Carlson predicts that Coleman would probably lose a legal challenge to the recount. He says delaying a finish to the race would damage Coleman's image with the public and says, "There's no disgrace in losing."

(Carlson was a Republican governor who now considers himself an independent. He endorsed Barack Obama for president but didn't support a candidate in the Senate race. He attended the 1996 press conference where Coleman switched from Democrat to Republican, and supported Coleman's 1998 bid for governor.)

What do you think?

I think that they should not delay the results any longer. He can run again next election. You can't change how the people vote.

I think Colemen should suck it up and realize that he lost, why is he making this process sooo long. I know I don't want him to be in senate if he does silly things like this. Maybe some people want to take back their votes for him because he is acting in such a stupid manner. Just pick a winner already, no one cares anymore!

I agree. Coleman should step down, he has been senator for quite awhile hasn't he? But it's weird to think that Franken used to be an actor on SNL.

I think that they should hurry and figure out who won, and the loser can run again.

Just give up already coleman. you lost once, getting another recount will just make you loose twice. you already look dumb for suing lol

I think they should just let it go. He can always run again. And i agree that if he keeps pushing the issue it will only hurt his image.

I think that he makes a good point. I think it is interesting how even though he is a republican, he is thinking about the whole situation and not just supporting him cuz Coleman is republican.

i mean just move on and think about ways to run next time. you cant change what happen on nov 4 so stop just dragging it out because you refuse to see that you lost.

I think they shouldn't delay. Coleman just needs to stop being a baby and believe the fact that the people voted for Franken.

I guess i don't really know all the details of the recount or whatever, but it seems like they should be done with it all by now! If they know the winner, they should declare it and get over with it.

I don't think that they should prolong it anymore than neccesary. Carlson is right when he says that delaying a finish would damage Colman's rep.
