Lots of Snow and Ice

A man,in New Bedford, Mass., used a blowtorch to melt ice on his back porch and ended up setting his house on fire, causing up to $30,000 in damage. Luckily no one was injured. The man used a torch hooked up to a 20-pound propane cylinder. He got too close to the building's wood frame and ignited the vinyl siding. The fire quickly spread into the building's second- and third-floor apartments. It took 25 firefighters to subdue the blaze that damaged bedrooms in the upstairs units, and caused damage to the structure and wiring. The homeowner will not be charged. He is lucky because not only could he have been charged with arson; he could be made to pay the firefighting costs. Also a bummer is that his insurance might not have to pay for fire damage.

This guy is just silly! Why would he be using that anyway to get ice off...there are other ways! Well it happened and thats kinda bad that the insurance won't pay for that but it was his fault. And now he has to shell out 30,000 to fix it....

Well i don't think he should have been using a blowtorch to be getting the ice off. That isn't the smartest way! He will have to pay a lot of money now and that sucks for him i guess! I realize that it is colder than sin out so the ice isn't going to melt anytime soon...but really, a blowtorch? wow..

What a block head. I don't feel bad that he will have to pay. If he had any sort of common sense he would've left the blowtorch in the garage.

This guy is dumbbb and does not have COMMON SENSE! Use a fricken shovel and salt! He should have to be held responsible because other people suffered from his mistake.

i think the guy should have stopped being lazy and used an ice scraper then none of this would have happened.

I think the man is pretty dumb to use a blow torch. So i think it is good that he has to pay for his own stupidity.

A torch to get ice off! Are you kidding me? There's other ways. I guess he has a house to fix, that'll cost a lot. Hopefully he learned a lesson!

You dont put fire up by anything you dont want burned

Why would he do this anyways? A blowtorch is kinda over the top...he should have thought about it a little more and I think that he should help with money.

There are a few different choice things that this guy could be called. But he's making other people feel less stupid so good for him.
