U.S. Senate Race Recount
Here are the most current results of the recount. Both sides are contesting ballots that were thrown out for invalid reasons. The secretary of state's office reports that 3,594 ballots have been challenged so far, with 1,836 questioned by Coleman's camp and 1,758 questioned by Franken's. Some 12,000 absentee ballots were rejected from the initial vote count because of technicalities and errors. These ballots are now being looked over and counted if possible. There are also reports of missing ballots. In Oak Park Heights, for instance, one precinct showed 1,462 votes on Nov. 4, but only 1,449 during the recount. In some places, election officials have said the mismatched figures were the result of a faulty machine reading on Election Day that led to some ballots being fed through twice. Others located ballots in storage areas.
Both sides have lawyers and observers watching over the recounts in every county.
| 1,044,255 | Contesting 2448 ballots | |
| 1,040,285 | Contesting 2292 ballots | |
| Current Lead | 3,970 | |
| Net gain from Nov. 4 count | Coleman +77 | |

i think its a mess, the sooner they figure out who won the better off we'll be, we won't have to worry about it and the state will have a person in washington.
drama drama drama. i hope this gets over soon.
This is a total mess! This should get over now! A recount shouldn't take this long. Although this is very close! How bout neither get it, and then we just electe different people, that sounds fun to me! And They should get this politic drama over soon, cause it's just sickening.
this has gone on too long and they should decide a winner, or at least stop talkin about it all the time.
pretty much agree with everyone about this one.
its close but i think that it has gone on too long.
im sick of hearing about it everyday.
I think it is dumb that they can't just get the recount over with. They should have just done it right the first time. We should be more organized on the elections. After all we have been doing it for a long time. We should be used to it by now.
I think If we are going to have all these problems with machines and a waste of time, we should just do it the old fashion way. It may take time but at least there's less of these articles.
I agree with Holmer that it is a mess. They should have found out who won so that the people there could move on with their lives.
the election said that coleman won so y doesnt frankenstein give up?
Both parties dont need to be so picky on challenged ballots,it isn't going to help there candidate get in.
Crazy how the vote keeps going back and forth. I think its good that they are taking their time to recount the votes though, so they will not have any other mistakes.
Grumble grumble grumble... well this one is old i should have went the other way, but Franken is stil in the lead, probably after that one town that lost a bunch of ballots
These votes need to be figured out! It's rediculous and I hope that they find out soon.
its a long process to figure out who won, but smart also to recount. Although the recount process can have problems.
It would've been nice for them to be more organized but if this is the way they want to do it... It should be over soon anyway.
Recounting shouldnt take this long. If they can count all those ballots within a day the first time why this long now? we'll know who the winner is sooner or later.
I agree with everyone else it is pretty crappy this whole thing hasn't been figured out yet
its is stupid how one candidate cant just take the loss and walk away. they always have to be a baby about it.
