Recount Update

Well, the results will be in January 5th. Congress convenes January 6. At this point Frankin is projected to beat Coleman by 78 votes. I guess we will know after Christmas break.

Some Minnesota election facts:

Minnesota has an automatic manual recount law that kicks in whenever the margin of victory is below 0.5 percent. This recount would have happened no matter what--whether Frankin or Coleman wanted it or not.

Minnesota law does not allow for a revote. The ballots will have to be counted and a decision made.

Our recount process and transparency in the process are being called a"model for the country." Yay Minnesota!

That's good that they finally have a good idea of who is going to win the senate race, and finally we will know for sure on Jan. 5th! WHOO! And we have good laws when it comes to a recount and we don't allow re votes which would be a mess...

I think Minnesota's laws on recounts are good. There could be chaos and a huge mess if we had re-votes and I think people would just rather not go back to the polling place. It is crazy that the vote is SO close. 78 votes isn't very much at all!

Good thing there doesn't have to be a revote. That've been a complete disaster.

I think recounts are good because we shouldn't make mistakes like that and chaos could occur.

I dont know why people cant trust the voting machines, it would save a lot of headache.

i think, it is good we don't re vote it would cause a lot of problems, trying to organize such a thing. recounting will eventually solve the problem

that's good that we don't allow recounts, because that could get pretty crazy.

they should get it done with this is taking long time to pick....

there should be no recounts cuz then we dont have a real representative in congress they were not voted by the people so then they dont know what the people want

I think the re-count is good because a revote would have just been more drama.

I dont know why they spend that much money on election machines if they cant trust them.

I think it's good that they are starting to figure it out and I think that people should stop commplanining about losing.

It's a good thing they recount when the election is super close. This election is taking way too long!

Btw... a recount might have been cheaper than all this other stuff that has happened... it wouldn't have been a TOTAL disaster.

i know this is old but we need to get this over with just appoint one they both could provide for a good cause

Its about time. The whole recount took a long time but, not as bad as florida in 2000.

i think it is weird that they put so much money into the machines and we still cant trust them.
